Holiday Beautiful: Party Ready Hairstyles !!!

The holidays are quickly approaching...No, they are here! Is your social calendar full...what to wear, shoes, dress, hair? The holidays are special...look your best, be glamourous. Yes, you too can do it!

Here are a few celebrity inspired styles to consider.

It's official, high ponies with very long tails are in. Tip: To hide where natural hair ends and extensions begin, wrap a piece of hair around the base.
A sequined or feathered headband instantly dresses up any outfit. It's a great accessory for a holiday look.
A braided up-do is an excellent transition from day time to evening look. This hairstyle will keep the hair away from your face and accentuate your neck and shoulders.
Do you like the "side-shaved" hairstyle, but don't want to commit to cutting your hair. Simply, for a more subtle take on this look slick the sides back and secure for an evening look.

Who Am I...?

Have you ever wondered how to select your perfect look? Well, if you are like me, you don't have the salaries of the rich and famous to hire stylists and image consultants.

I have over the years studied the basic facts that anyone can use. All you need to ask is..."who am I?" Once you answer that the rest is easy...

Facial shape, hair texture and thickness are your natural guidelines for discovering your own best style and then becoming satisfied with the result. Knowing the shape of your face is the basis for that all of your makeovers, whether new makeup, new hairstyles, or extreme makeovers should originate.

Heart - Add volume at chin. This facial shape is characterized by a wider forehead and narrower chin. Bring some hair onto the forehead to disguise its width. Keep hair close to the head at the eyes but make it slightly full around the jaw, and below and in front of the earlobes.

Oblong - Add softness. This facial shape has a long and narrow bone structure. An oblong facial shape often has a long, thin neck. Use a fringe or half-bang across the forehead by creating soft waves or curls in the crown or nape areas. This helps create the illusion of an oval.

Oval - Many choices. As its name implies, the oval face shape is longer than wide, with a jaw that is narrower than the cheekbones. Because the oval face has no dominant areas and is so proportional , this face looks good with just about any hairstyle, length or texture.
Round - Avoid width. The round-shaped face has a wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones. Usually, a slightly shorter neck is associated with a round facial shape. A geometric linear style looks very good. Add height and long wispy sides to make the cheeks look narrow. Sides and nape comb close.
Square - Soften angles. The width of the cheeks and forehead will be similar. The width of the jaw line and forehead will also be similar. Soften angles to give the illusion that both the forehead and the jaw line appear narrower. Avoid styles that add width at the jawline. Soft curls and waves will create a balance to the straight features of the face.

These basic guidelines may be used when choosing the perfect hairstyle for your lace wigs as well. If you have any questions, call our customer care department at 210.858.8554 and someone will be happy to assist you.

One of Life's Biggest Battles

Trinity Lace Wigs is a supplier of full cranial prosthesis to many experiencing hair loss. When you become acquainted with someone who is about to take on one of life's biggest battles (which is the fight against cancer) in a way of speaking their fight becomes our fight. Cancer is such an insidious and widespread enemy that we all rally to assist anyone who decides not to give in but to fight no matter what it takes. And many times what it takes is chemotherapy (which is a highly effective way to destroy cancer cells).

Regrettably, chemotherapy is also extremely hard on the cancer patient, too. Nausea, loss of appetite and hair loss can be devastating. That is why for many patients with cancer, the prospect of covering the effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment with a realistic hair replacement unit (full cranial prosthesis) or lace wig is extremely therapeutic.

The loss of hair from illness such as cancer is debilitating to one's self-esteem. This is especially the case of women and the very young. The sudden loss of hair is a tell-tale sign that screams "cancer patient", even before the patient is usually ready to share their illness with others.

Many medical providers are prescribing "full cranial prosthesis" or full lace wigs for their patients to assist them through their chemotherapy that will assist them in keeping the patient's fight private (as it should be).

If you or someone you know is about to face "one of life's biggest battles", there is no time like the present to ask your doctor or counselor how to learn about realistic hair replacement. Remember, we at Trinity Lace Wigs offer an effective resource to assist them in their fight. This battle against cancer is a war we all want to win.

Lace wigs are not cheap. A well made high quality lace wig unit constructed with 100% human Indian Remy hair can range in cost up to $3,000 plus. Trinity Lace Wigs have quality lace wig units that start under $250. Even though these wigs are on the expensive side , they still prove to be more economical in the long run to those who normally visit the hair salon every two (2) weeks or every month for a relaxer, perm, touch-up or other services.

Lace wigs are available in a wide range of colors, textures and lengths. Textures include: straight, wavy, body wave or curls and lengths from short cropped to waist length. Look Like an A-lister, Celeb or Model

Have you ever noticed the fascinating hair styles worn by A-list stars, media personalities and models? You too can look just like them with the addition of a lace wig to your beauty arsenal. Yes, the secret is out! What many people don't know is that most of these A-listers, celebs and models alike are wearing lace wigs. What is a Lace Wig? We're glad you asked...
Lace Wigs come in three (3) categories: Full Lace, Front Lace Wigs and Lace Frontals. These wigs are composed of 100% Human Hair or Synthetic or man-made hair designed to be worn for fashion aesthetic and stylistic reasons, or to hide alopecia or hair loss. These wigs that at one time were only afforded to the rich and famous are quickly catching the eye and becoming affordable to the general public.
Lace Wigs are called this because they are constructed by adding hair onto an invisible lace base that is custom cut perfectly to the wig wearer's hairline. These wigs are the most natural looking wigs on the market today. They are perfectly shaped and very light weight. When applied correctly, no-one will be able to tell that you are wearing a wig as these hair units boasts an invisible hairline which gives off the appearance that the wigh hair is actually growing from your scalp.
Lace Wigs really offer you a natural look which is why they are immensely popular, and if you are losing your hair, they offer an excellent hair replacement solution. In addition, unlike weaves, fusion, strand-by-strand, and many other popular hair extension methods that can damage your hair and natural hairline, lace wigs offer a safer option with recommended use.
Another great feature of lace wigs is you can style them very easily. Don't covet the popular lengthy curls of Mary J. Blige or the silky straight locks of Beyonce or Tyra. These styles can be achieved with a lace wig...as a matter of fact the styling possibilities are unlimited. You can truly get the hair that you have always desired. Lace Wigs can also be orn under inclement weather conditions. You may even take a shower or go swimming with your lace wig on. The sky is the limit.

Your Hair and Diet

Many people lose hair for different reasons. Sickness, medication and stress can cause hair loss. Some types of hair loss can be inherited. While there are certainly a number of specific medical treatments; depending on the cause and the extent of the hair loss, experts believe there are a variety of natural treatments that can yield important benefits for anyone concerned about the health of their hair.
Among the first natural lines of defense is eating healthy and a nutritious diet. Research has shown that a diet rich in the following are essential to the growth and maintenance of healthy hair.
Proteins give your hair strength. Hair is composed of protein. A known fact is, a diet which is lacking a sufficient level of protein will result in hair loss or lack of hair growth and possible thinning. It is suggested to follow a diet rich in protein. Sources of protein include: liver, fish, beans, eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt.
A diet rich in Omega-3 is very beneficial to hair. Eat plenty of salmon, an Omega-3 deficiency may result in dry hair and scalp.
A zinc deficiency can may lead to excessive hair shedding, nuts are high in zinc and are also considered protein rich. Cashews, pecans and almonds are all a great source of zinc.
Eat dark green vegetables abundantly. They are considered to be very rich in iron, which is a vehicle which carries oxygen to the hair follicles. Iron is the second most important nutrient for hair (protein being number one). Sources of iron: liver, eggs, dates, raisins, whole grain cereals and salmon (previously mentioned).
Dark green vegetable are also an excellent source of Vitamins A and C. Our bodies require these vitamins to produce sebum, which is the oily substance secreted by our hair follicles.
A diet inclusive of whole wheat and fortified whole grain products provide the body with zinc, iron and B vitamins. Which are essential for proper hair growth.
Remember, your hair is composed also of H2O which is essential to proper hair growth. Drink a minimum of 6-8 glasses of water a day.
PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE BEGINNING ANY REGIMEN OF VITAMINS OR MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS
Incorporate foods rich in Biotin into your diet. Biotin is essential for healthy hair, skin and nails. Foods that include biotin are: brown rice, lentils, green peas, oats, sunflower seeds and walnuts.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING:
  • Caffeine
  • Sugar
  • Sodas
  • Fatty Foods
  • Smoking

"Real Men Do Wear Pink"- NFL Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness

Have you ever heard the adage, "Real men don't wear pink"? Well, I do every time I try to outfit my husband in a pink tie or shirt. Yesterday; however, he was proven wrong. I am a self-proclaimed "Football Widow", I amuse myself (from another room) as my husband shouts at the big screen tv at the fumbles, the missed field goals or what ever call the referee misses.

Yesterday, in an effort to spend more time with my mate, I suffered through as the NY Giants played the Kansas City Chiefs. Don't ask me the score, I did not notice; what I did notice was the showing of "pink" support that was displayed by the NFL players.

A "Crucial Catch" is the NFL's campaign to promote breast screenings and Breast Cancer Awareness month. NFL football players are sporting pink on towels, patches, jerseys, caps and pratically anything else that will help to catapult awareness. Breast cancer is a life threatening disease, but the scientific and medical communities, with growing public support, are making significant gains in educating women so that diagnosis at the earliest stage of this disease is a possibility.

I have found a new respect for the sport of football. In a time where we hear about the negativity of the players and the scandals, I wanted to observe the positive. I still do not understand the rules nor promise to be a faithful viewer, but I respect the efforts to bring awareness of breast cancer to the masses by the NFL players.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is breast cancer awareness month. A time where we are encouraged to "think pink". For many women who are either recently diagnosed, being treated, in remission or you know or have a loved one with breast cancer; you don't have to have a month dedicated to awareness of this deadly disease. You have a constant reminder.

Periodically during the month I will provide some information I hope to be helpful to spread the word about breast cancer and the need for more research. Also, Trinity Lace Wigs will be donating a portion of proceeds from sales in the month of October to breast cancer research.

Did you know?:

  • Even a woman who does not have breast cancer in her family history can get breast cancer

  • The two leading factors of breast cancer is: being a woman and getting older

  • Early detection of breast cancer is the best way to combat it. The best method for early detection are regularly scheduled mammograms. Every woman should get an annual mammogram starting at 40 years of age.

  • Certain activities can reduce your chances of developing breast cancer such as: regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol intake.

  • More women now are surviving breast cancer than ever due to early detection and improved medical treatments.

Hair Loss: "A" is for Alopecia (Post 4)

Traction Alopecia: Hair loss which occurs from traction or "pulling"
on hair. A large section of African American women suffer from
this form of alopecia.

Traction alopecia is commonly seen with braids (notice hair line in
picture, alopecia resulted from too tight or tension at hair line from braids), pony tails and other hairstyles which create traction on the scalp.

Hair Loss: "A" is for Alopecia (Post 3)

Alopecia universalis or alopecia areata universalis is a medical condition involving rapid loss of ALL hair. It is considered the most severe form of alopecia areata. Hair loss in alopecia universalis occurs all over the body including the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes.

Alopecia universalis is the rarest form of alopecia known. It is considered an autoimmune disorder. The hair follicles are not dead or "destroyed" they are still alive, but the production of hair has ceased because of the body's autoimmune response to the hair follicles.

Hair Loss: "A" is for Alopecia (Post 2)

Alopecia Totalis is the total loss of hair on the entire head. Different from Alopecia Areata which is characterized in patchy, bald spots on the scalp; Alopecia Totalis covers the "total" area of the scalp for which its name implies.

Its causes are not clear, it is considered to be an autoimmune disorder. Stress is sometimes believed to be a contributing factor to the loss of hair caused by alopecia; however, there are many people who lead relatively stress-free lives who have experienced the symptoms of alopecia.

Hair Loss: "A" is for Alopecia ( Post 1)

There are many different forms of hair loss. The term alopecia simply means "hair loss". It can affect both men and women, children too.

Different Types of Alopecia

Alopecia Areata: Hair loss which occurs in patchy areas on the scalp.

Alopecia Totalis: Hair loss present over the entire scalp.

Alopecia Universalis: Hair loss which occurs over the entire body, including the scalp, eyebrows, etc.

Androgenetic Alopecia: Normal genetic hair loss caused by (DHT) Dihydrotestosterone in men and hormonal factors in women.

Traction Alopecia: This refers to hair loss which occurs due to traction (stress) placed on hair. Traction Alopecia is commonly seen with pony tails, braids, and other styles that produce (pressure, tightness) traction on the scalp.

Today...let's discuss Alopecia Areata-

Alopecia Areata is the name for a condition in which round patches of hair loss appear suddenly. The hair-growing tissue is attacked by the patient's own immune cells for unknown reasons. There are commonly three (3) stages: first, there is sudden hair loss, then the patches of hair loss enlarges , lastly new hair grows back. This process may take months, sometimes more than a year . Rarely, does the hair never grow back.

Free Lace Wigs

Anyone suffering from the devastating effects of hairloss can tell you how alienated they sometimes feel. Undeniably there are number of balding men and women who have embraced their hair less state; however, we must acknowledge the countless number of people who suffer from it.

Understandably, I receive countles correspondence, emails and phone calls from people with hair loss. The majority of inquiries, comments, testimonials have come from women. This issue does not discriminate gender, age, socio-economic standards, ethnicities. It is an equal opportunity hair follicle destroyer. Men and women both can have hair loss issues...even children.

In the coming days, weeks and months we will explore all sides of the hair loss issue and our mission at Trintiy Lace Wigs to assist those who opt for realistic hair replacement.

Hair loss can be a very debilitating condition for some. For instance, I received an email from "Monique" (not her real name, for obvious reasons) who is 21 years old and suffers from Trichotillomania (we will discuss this condition in future posts). She is a very vibrant young women and very optimistic about life until it comes to her hair less state. Monique can not afford therapy, does not have an adequate support system and can not afford to invest in a lace wig. Right now she is wearing a very unflattering synthetic wig we she says make her feel less confident than her sparse locks.

Trinity Lace Wigs is having a contest where three (3) full lace wigs will be given away to 3 lucky entrants. Official rules can be found on our website http://www.trinitylacewigs.com/. One major requirement for this particular contest is that the entrants must have some type of medically related hairloss.

For more information about our endeavor please refer to our Press Release "Free Give-a-way" Trinity Lace Wigs Free Give-a-Way contest date ends September 30, 2009.

Don't worry Divas, we have and will never forget about you. Check out our website often for additional promotions, contests and sales. Currently we have a Spectacular September Sales Event 20% off Sale of Stock Wigs sale ends September 30, 2009.

Trinity Lace Wigs: Hello Facebook... | Facebook

Trinity Lace Wigs: Hello Facebook... Facebook: "For months customers, friends and family have been asking when I was bringing Trinity Lace Wigs to Facebook. Why?, I asked. Because, alot of other businesses are doing it? I was never one to do things because everyone else was doin' it. Over the years after hearing your mother ask you, 'if so and so jumped off a bridge, would you jump off after them?' I learned early to observe and learn. So far, its worked out to my advantage.

Still the questions kept coming. Knowing the demands of running a home-based internet business, I did not want to take on another added responsibility unnecessarily...so, I did a little, no alot of research. I researched social media networking. Let me tell you now...I have hit the ground running.

I was well aware of the importance of the internet. That lesson comes day one when the internet is an integral part of your business; however, the blinders came off the more I researched and learned about the world of networking via social media like Facebook, MySp...,Twit...,etc.

I've always believed, it is better late than never! So, here we are on Facebook. Please stay tuned for interesting, informative notes about what is it we do and the services we provide to our customers and the community.

For today, I will give you a KISS (Keep It Simple Sista) so, I bid you 'adieu' for now. Until next time.

STAY TUNED..."
